MEETHE CHAWAL
RICE - 1 BOWL
GHEE - ½ BOWL
SUGAR - ACCORDING TO THE TASTE
EDIBLE COLOUR - 1 PINCH
WATER - 4 BOWL
ALMONDS - 10 CHOPPED
CASHEW NUTS - 8 CHOPPED
RAISINS - 8
DRY COCONUT - 1 CUP CHOPPED
SAFFRON - 10 THREADS
MILK - ¼ CUP
CARDAMOM POWDER - 2 PINCH
METHOD
Wash rice and soak it in 4 cups of water for ½ an hour.
Take ¼ cup of milk and add saffron in it .
Take a pan and add ghee to it.
Heat it on low flame.
Add all dry fruits.
Roast it and keep it aside
Boil rice till they become half cooked.
Now separate water from boiled rice.
Add these boiled rice in the ghee.
Now add sugar and cover it with a lid.
After 3 minutes stir it with a spoon.
You will see that sugar will leave little water.
Dry it's water by stirring on low flame.
Add saffron milk in it and mix all the roasted dry fruits in rice.
Cook rice for 2 minutes more.
Now our sweet dish is ready to serve.
This sweet dish is known as meethe chawal or jarda, Kesari pulao or sweet rice and cooked on special occasions like Vaisakhi in India.
This is a very special and easy to cook recipe of meethe chawal. Preparation time for this dish is 20 minutes. This recipe is for four people.
